Photoshop Homework 3


I think it would be hard to photoshop myself into this picture because the tree blanket thing is a hard fabric to replicate and put my face in the crack of it. It seems challenging and requires the clone stamp tool as well as the layers task that we did last time.


This picture gave me an idea to put myself somewhere that can be edited to look real due to lighting and messing around with colours.



This made me laugh because it was a creative way to make the girl look the other direction without editing the person itself, instead adding a mirror to show the reflection of the other girl is quite skillful to edit and really cool.


I think this would be cool to recreate because it is fun to create landscapes in my own studio without going anywhere using everyday tools and good lighting to look realistic.

    This isn't for this project specifically, but I really like the design of your whole page. It makes it very aesthetic and easy to maneuver and look at.

Artist Statement: I tried my best to keep my portfolio as neat looking as possible and kept a colour scheme that is easy on the eyes; black, white and red. For the front and back cover I used pictures of Japan as they are aesthetically pleasing and related to me. I tried my best to separate my work and make it as big as possible so that it is able to be seen. I kept the artist statement/most of my text on separate pages. I made sure to organize the layout properly so that the texts weren't next to each other and made sure it was kept in order of when we did each assignment. My favourite page is the logo page where I formatted it to look like a professional brand guideline page and it took me very long to lay it out the way I wanted it to. If I had more time, I would try out some different fonts and make some pages more interesting, but overall I am very proud of what I made.

Business Cards

 Sketches: Final Product: 1) 2) 3)  Artist Statement: For my business cards, I used the colours of my three different logo variations as my colour scheme. I played around with a lot of different layouts but I chose these three. I took different ideas from my sketches to create these because I did not like how they turned out and merged them into what the final business cards looked like. I mainly centered the logos for each front page and used the back for all the information. I chose a handwritten font to pair with my logo so that it had a fancy feel. I used glyphs to create the tiny icons of a phone, house, and email, which helped me omit the words "Contact Information" and make my cards look professional. I think my favourite front cover layout is the first one and my favourite back design layout is the last one.

Indesign Tutorials

 The first video I liked the creative design that was taught as it will be relevant to class and the creation of business cards. I like how he played around with different formats, and the one thing that stood out to me while he was explaining was the way he tried to put the image inside the text. Learning how to do layouts like this will be helpful, especially with the way the images are placed and how the colors match the overall theme. I like the professional look of the black and white with the pictures placed artfully. The column tool is very helpful in this tutorial. The pop of yellow showing up from the black and white is very eye catching and a good design idea. In this video, the layout ideas given using full page photos with text as well as the formatting of headings, body text and pictures in general were really clean. I like the way the guy uses the rectangle shapes to mimic a magazine and use it next to the body text.
